Have You Heard Of Intellectual Property Rights?

You can see a lot of redundant information online especially in the real estate world. The same original information has been rewritten, paraphrased or even plagiarized a thousand times. Perhaps it’s hard to come up with an original content that’s why some bloggers do the ‘cut and paste’.

What is plagiarism? Plagiarism is a form of cheating and according to plagiarism.org, it is the act of using another person’s work without credit, committing literary theft, stealing or passing off ideas or words as though it was your own and presenting an idea or product as new, but which was actually taken from another source. When you are talking about intellectual rights, plagiarism is truly a serious offense. Real estate bloggers should avoid plagiarism so they will not be liable for copyright infringement. They should make sure you are aware of where and how you write your articles or posts.

Sometimes, you get the feeling that the ideas are yours while reading a particular article. Then you started looking for the article in your documents so you’ll have the proof in case you need to inform the blogger that his/her post was originally yours. In your frustration, you didn’t find the article but the hunch was so strong. So how will you know if your real estate article has been plagiarized? Simple, copy and paste the phrase that you think was yours. Don’t forget to put a quote mark to ensure that only the words will appear in the results. If your original article has been published online and distributed to different directories, it will show in the results but if not and only the same article shows in the list, your hunch was wrong. Perhaps it was his/her own article spun and submitted to different directories or blogs.

Looking back, which type of blogger are you? Make sure that you cite the sources or acknowledge the original source of the material in your every writing. As a real estate blogger, strive to write only original content all the time.

Are you an authentic blogger? Do you write from your own experience? Are you a paraphrase blogger? Do you paraphrase people’s work, writing the definitions in another form? Or are you a plagiarize blogger? Do you copy other people’s work or ideas without any acknowledgement?

Using synonyms is definitely not enough.
