Staging Your Home For Yourself
Staging your personal property to sell on the real estate market is a vital part of the home selling puzzle, but why don’t you apply the same strategies to residing in your dwelling? Living in a home that is as presentable as the cover of a publication is completely divine. Envision being home and getting so exuberant to be at your house that you simply do not want to leave- there’s simply not a better feeling. After a long day, retire to your master suite in all its hotel spender! Make a splurge on heavy sheets and high end fabrics for your bed linens, and by all means get rid of that old comforter you have been using even though it doesn’t bother you anymore. Consider how nice it could feel to come home and appreciate your home, are proud of the nice things that are there not just for your friends and family, but even more important for yourself!
Remember your bathrooms, this is often an place that is neglected. Talking about linens, contemplate your towels in your bathrooms, are they old? Do they have holes in them? Swap towels with good quality towels and for the maximum of variety select basic white colored. White colored will match up with in your bathrooms and it is easy to change up components to modify the look of the bathroom, but since you are spending your money on luxury quality linens, you might as well make them last as long as they can.
In fact many people get complacent in their home, they just tolerate clutter and lack of organization and is some cases dirtiness. As a Calgary Realtor, I often show homes while individuals are “living” in them and truthfully are often surprised about how people live in their homes. Your house is meant to be one of your all time most significant purchases, yet many don’t seem to value or care for their houses.
There’s also the build-it-yourself people. I just showed a residence that appeared remarkable in the pictures, however when we actually viewed it in person the renovations were so inexperienced. It became so obvious that they did their own ceramic tile work, laid their own rugs and my own favourite, they changed the kitchen cupboard knobs to handles and didn’t even bother to match the cabinet paint shade to fill the holes left behind. Oh then there is the fact that the cupboard hardware was even installed uneven. Sometimes folks it is just better to hire a pro yes is does cost more, but there’s a good reason it will! All the smoke and mirrors starts to cause you to question the problems which you cannot see like plumbing related or electrical.
Take inventory on your home and if you are not 100% happy about the current condition make the changes you need. Your house is your own largest financial commitment and let’ s face it you would spend lots of time in it, you should appreciate it and be happy with it! It should be a place you are proud to call home.
